Seoul Yes Bio, a cutting-edge regenerative medicine platform company, announced on the 20th that it has signed a “tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)” with Seoul Yes Bio and CGBIO for joint research, development, and commercialization in the fields of advanced regenerative medicine and healthcare

Seoul Yes Bio is a specialized advanced regenerative medicine company that conducts research and development on treatments for arthritis using bone marrow-derived stem cells, autoimmune cell therapies for rheumatoid arthritis, and anti-cancer NK cell therapies through consistent collaboration with Japanese regenerative medicine institutions. In accordance with the revised Advanced Regenerative Bio Act, the company is jointly pursuing advanced regenerative medicine clinical research and commercialization with Seoul Yes Hospital.

Based on this agreement, the three organizations plan to establish an integrated platform that will facilitate not only joint research and technology development in the field of advanced regenerative medicine but also the validation and commercialization of therapeutic technologies.

Through this agreement, Seoul Yes Bio will plan the research, development, and clinical trials of advanced regenerative medicine therapies; Seoul Yes Hospital will be responsible for conducting clinical trials in actual medical settings; and C-G Bio will oversee the institutional and administrative support necessary for R&D, as well as product commercialization and global expansion strategies, serving as a Management Service Organization (MSO) that coordinates the three institutions.

Furthermore, Seoul Yes Hospital and C-G Bio plan to apply the regenerative medicine platform established under this agreement to the hospital operated by C-G Bio in Bali, Indonesia, to create a practical business model for regenerative medicine.

This tripartite agreement is significant in that it enhances access to clinical treatment facilities—which has historically been the greatest challenge for biotech companies—thereby enabling substantive communication and active collaboration between researchers and medical staff. Unlike previous agreements that ended without tangible progress, this is regarded as a rare example of actual implementation among domestic agreements. It is expected to establish a foothold for K-Bio’s entry into the global regenerative medicine industry.

Lee Gil-yong, Chief Director of Seoul Yes Hospital (Neurosurgeon), stated, “Although advanced regenerative medicine laws have been enacted in Korea, the reality is that it is difficult to apply them in actual clinical settings because most medical institutions have not even had the opportunity to experience regenerative medicine due to long-standing regulations.”

He continued, “Dr. Lee Gil-yong, Chief Executive Officer of Seoul Yes Hospital (Neurosurgeon), stated, “Although advanced regenerative medicine laws have been enacted in Korea, the reality is that it is difficult to apply them in actual clinical settings because most medical institutions have not even had the opportunity to experience regenerative medicine due to prolonged regulatory restrictions.”He added, “Seoul Yes Hospital and Seoul Yes Bio possess diverse clinical experience accumulated through long-term exchanges with Japanese regenerative medicine institutions, as well as research teams and R&D capabilities that can be immediately applied in the field.” He continued, “By integrating these R&D capabilities with Cigebiotech’s diverse bio-convergent medical devices, we will commercialize a platform that practically applies advanced regenerative medicine in clinical settings, thereby laying the foundation for the Korean regenerative medicine industry to emerge as a global leader.”
